About Mr Vu Dang
Mr Dang is the Principal Lawyer of MLE Consulting Services. He has experiences working as a solicitor in the Family Law (including IVO) Clinic and General Civil Law Clinic in Fitzroy Legal Service since the commencement of his licence over 14 years ago working under the incumbent FLS Principal Lawyer Mr Adrian Snodgrass.
He has been working in DLA Piper (a global law firm) for many decades and, when he finished law degree, he concurrently joined the pro bono team in DLA Piper to work as a solicitor at Fitzroy Legal Service ("FLS"). In 2021, he was awarded the Life Member status, the highest award at FLS for his long-term and consistent commitment and excellent service to the community. He was one of merely twelve solicitors in FLS to receive this award from 1972 and he is the only Vietnamese solicitor to achieve this. For further information about this status, please visit the page of Who We Are on FLS website http://www.fls.org.au where it lists all 13 solicitors who received this award from 1972.
In addition to his long-time experience in both IT and law, he completed two short-course certificates on Photography at ACS Distance Education and RMIT in Australia and became a professional sports photographer at the Australian Open (grand slam) from 2009. To do this, a photographer must obtain a professional media accreditation in order to carry professional gear to the tennis court. This is not for normal audience. He is presently a gold member of Canon Professional Services (CPS) in Australia. This is a result of his professional work at the Australian Open where he received references to Canon CPS. No amateur photographer could be a member of Canon CPS as this is for professionals with Canon gear.
He took all landscape photos and his own professional portrait with his Canon professional gear to use for MLE website without the need to purchase copyright from any photographers. This is out of ordinary for a normal lawyer.
Now, despite being the Principal Lawyer at MLE Consulting Services, he is still volunteering as one of the most long-service solicitors at Fitzroy Legal Service (FLS). In May 2023, he has become a principal at FLS. No lawyer with Vietnamese background has ever achieved this role in FLS since 1972.
